About
My name is Samantha Baker, and I can't wait to work with you to create beautiful designs!
My passion in the past has been non profits and weddings, but I can offer a full service experience for both individuals and companies big and small.
My love of design started in high school. I tried to get into a photography class, but it was full so my guidance counselor suggested I try Graphic Arts.
I fell in love with the class, and the idea of creating something on the computer that ends up in my hands. In that class I learned the basics of design and the ins and outs of a printing press (which I unfortunately have
not been able to work on one since). When it was time to go to college I found the Graphic Design program at Illinois State University, and went in
with my major decided. I graduated four years later with a Bachelor of
Arts in Graphic Design.
From there I started working almost immediately in the Design Department at Brookfield Zoo. I started out as a part time production artist and worked my way up to a full time junior designer. At that point my husband and I decided to start a family, so I (sadly) left the zoo and decided to start my
own company so I could raise our daughter and still be able to be creative.
For individuals I have done designs for:
-
children’s birthdays
-
weddings; from simple invites to full wedding packages, including invitations, place cards, programs, and more.
I have also found a passion for non profit design and have done work for:
-
Players for Pits
-
Fetching Tails Foundation
-
Chicagoland Rescue and Intervention Program (CRISP)
-
Almost Home Foundation
-
the Bickell Foundation
-
Shine Fertility
-
Playworks Chicago
In my free time you can find me volunteering my time rescuing dogs with Players for Pits as the Team Lead for Fundraising & Events, playing board and video games with my family, attending live sporting events of all kinds with my husband, or playing with our two rescue dogs, Vash and Marvel!
